Audubon Boarding

Here at AVH, we will care for your pet in a clean and safe environment.  Our staff is trained to recognize warning signs and will make every effort to keep your pet on his or her regular schedule.  A veterinarian is available to give immediate care if your pet gets sick while you are gone.  Each pet is allowed plenty of outdoor time in our large backyard and pets in the same family can stay together whenever possible.

 Boarding Policy During Hurricane Season

Audubon Veterinary Hospital requires at least three contacts in order to board your pet with us this hurricane season.  In the event of a hurricane warning, AVH will contact the following people to discuss possible pick-up and evacuation plans.  If deemed necessary by AVH, each of these people MUST be able to pick up your pet within one (1) hour of notification.  Please have them contact AVH at the onset of a Hurricane watch for further instruction.

Hurricane Evacuation Policy

In the event that your pet is boarding at Audubon Veterinary Hospital during a voluntary or mandatory hurricane evacuation, he or she MUST be picked up by an emergency contact within one (1) hour of notification.  If your emergency contact cannot house your pet until you return, our sister hospital-Kleinpeter Veterinary Hospital in Baton Rouge-will offer boarding services to AVH clients and their pets this hurricane season.  If you choose this option, your emergency contact will be responsible for transporting your pet to the facility in Baton Rouge. Please notify your contacts to be sure that they are willing to comply with this policy.  If your pet is not picked up, an automatic $1,500.00 surcharge will be applied to your credit card to cover all costs associated with evacuating your animal to Kleinpeter Veterinary Hospital. This surcharge does not include board or any other necessary charges. Any pet that does not have a microchip will receive one at owner’s expense for identification purposes.
